Okay, I was feeling generous, otherwise I might have given this a lower rating. I had a hard time getting into this one. Characterization is not Deaver's strong suit and I prefer a character-driven story with a protagonist I can root for and connect with. Colton Shaw isn't that character. About 3/4 of the way through the plot picked up and started to gain some momentum, making the last 1/4 a quick read. However, this is not my favourite series, and despite the glowing recommendations on the cover, this story was only so-so on the thrilling scale. Only recommended for those who like plot-heavy story lines carried by cardboard characters. Meh.
