"The Sketchnote Handbook explains and illustrates practical sketchnote techniques for taking visual notes at your own pace as well as in real time during meetings and events. Rohde also addresses most people's fear of drawing by showing, step-by-step, how to quickly draw people, faces, type, and simple objects for effective and fast sketchnoting. The book looks like a peek into the author's private sketchnote journal, but it functions like a beginner's guide to sketchnoting with easy-to-follow instructions for drawing out your notes that will leave you itching to attend a meeting just so you can draw about it."--Publisher's description.

A quick read on taking visual notes, told through this visual style. This book did not teach me anything new, but it did increase my confidence to break out of the standard outline style of note taking... and convince me that I don't want to stray too far anyway. Good for note takers and visual and kinesthetic learners.

When words and images come together to create a record of a meeting or a discussion, it results in sketchnotes! Mike Rohde provides advice and examples that create motivation to try this method of visual notetaking. Beyond the examples of how to capture information in a visual format, Rohde also breaks down skills and techniques for drawing and handwriting. The author emphasizes the skills of listening and recall in creating effective visual maps.
