Creepy and moody and dark. Set in Baghdad. A monster created by a junk dealer by stitching together the body parts of people killed by bombs roams the city and exacts vengeance on the guilty and the sinners. There are many people deserving to die, and more all the time. It's an endless list of assassinations that the monster carries out. The government is evil. The US military is complicit. It's a mess. But an interesting read, especially after the Monk of Mokha -- two very different books set in the nearby countries with a troubled past and violent present: Iraq and Yemen.
