"Hedges offers his unvarnished views on topics rarely aired by the corporate media, including the hopeless corruption of our political system and the urgent need for a third-party rebellion; the difficulty of challenging the prevailing story lines of the Washington elite and the Israeli government; the disturbing parallels between current US conditions and the collapse of Balkans society into fascist violence during the 1990s; the criminalization of poverty; how many of the best and brightest in black America are siphoned from school to prison; nd how the pornography industry reflects the most dehumanizing qualities of global capitalism."--Dust jacket flap.

I can tell you that the first few chapters are devoted to the biography of Chris Hedges and a review of the failings of past reporters and management of The New York Times. One hopes they will get up to the present time eventually.

One of the best and most principled journalists of our time (or ever), Hedges talks candidly about his life and his beliefs, in these short interviews with David Talbot. Hopefully all the books in this series will be as accessible and interesting. Thanks, Skyhorse Publishing, for starting this series.

Another intelligent conversation from Hedges. This book should be in every high school class across the country - if you want to save the baby boomers from themselves. Read on and see the parallels of this book and Canada - really. Who is our Canadian version of Chris Hedges? David Suzuki? If you want to stand alone at the next dinner party, push this book's dialogue into the fray - and watch the room clear. This book, like all books by Hedges..is so important.

I admire and respect Mr. Hedges and feel we are close to the same wavelength - - he may not grasp everything, but he certainly grasps more of the essentials than 99%, plus he has demonstrated utmost integrity as shown when he resigned from the NY Times rather than write their fiction as directed!!!!
Agree with his thoughts on a third party - - this 2016 election was more a battle between independent hedge funds, and the bankers and their hedge funds [and yes, the banks own multiple hedge funds, et cetera]. Trump has John Paulson and others, Hillary representing Goldman Sachs, Chase, Morgan Stanley, et cetera.
The ONLY difference between the two candidates is that HRC can claim a lot more blood on her hands [Clinton's Extraordinary Rendition Program, 1995; warring on the Serbs and Roma, quashing Muammar Qaddafi's request-for-Interpol-warrant against Osama bin Laden in 1998; selling out the leader of the Northern Alliance, Ahmad Shah Massoud, coups in Honduras and Ukraine, et cetera, et cetera!].
