"Some people stay all summer long on the idyllic island of Belle Isle, North Carolina. Some people come only for the weekends-and it's something they look forward to all week long. When Riley Griggs is waiting for her husband to arrive at the ferry one Friday afternoon, she is instead served with papers informing her that her island home is being foreclosed. To make matters worse, her husband is nowhere to be found. She turns to her island friends for help and support, but each of them has their own secrets and the clock is ticking as the mystery deepens. Riley must find a way to investigate the secrets of Belle Isle and the husband she might not really know" -- page [4] cover.

This was a hard read, mainly because the characters were hard to like and feel anything but detestment for. Mainly the disrespectful 12 year old daughter, Maggie!- Her mother is a complete sap. I've had to put the book down several times for being so discusted and infuriated over these two that I just couldn't continue.
I finally opted for an audio version and had the rest of the book 'read to me' (which wasn't too much better-just poor choice of narrator)

Okay read, I found myself wanting more from the writer. The ending was the best part of the book as it was very descriptive and provided suspense needed for this type of story. I wish the whole book had been as suspenseful as the ending. The child character being allowed to be so disrespectful made the book hard to read.

This novel was an easy read and enjoyed it to the very end.

Meh...very lite reading, not much suspense. I knew who killed him and with what early on in the book. My first and last book from this author.

This was a lot of fun and great for the beach or a long weekend of rain. As others have suggested, a lot of it doesn't make any sense (financially) and the author never really clears that up. The first half is superb while the second half strains the imagination but it entertains nonetheless. My favorite part is (spoiler alert) her two days back at work at a local TV station.

Good enjoyable read. Did not appreciate the graphic sex though. Certainly not needed.

It's a good summer read. I liked her previous books better, but she's still a great writer.

Best book I have read this summer; could not put it down! Good choice if you enjoy a good love story with a bit of suspense and mystery.

Nobody expects chick-lit to be serious fiction, but this book strains credibility. A husband/business associate is murdered. but no one thinks twice about it until one of them might be accused of the crime. Forged papers would hold up a foreclosed property sale for months if not years in real life, but in this book it goes off without a hitch. It comes off as a hurried, poorly researched effort.

Great summer read.
