I also found the movie to be somewhat watching a 20/20 episode, rather than a tighter 60 Minute episode. Stay to the end of the film, as it does end with a few follow-up statements printed on the screen.
The special features were interesting, perhaps more interesting than the film. There was a 31+ minute Q&A panel with the director (James Vanderbilt), actresses, Elizabeth Moss and Cate Blanchett.
This is followed by a 10 minute segment with interviews with other cast members, along with Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford and another 10 minute interview segment with the real Dan Rather and Mary Mapes, reflecting upon their journalistic participation and of the state of news media in general.
The 10 minute segment of deleted scenes, I felt, was of no real interest or use.

Long boring movie!! Goes to show how far some will go for government cover ups!

another nail in the coffin of the American Presidency - Cate Blanchett should've received an Oscar nomination for her work in this not only great, but important movie, about what's happened to our Fourth Estate, the news, its disintegration following its corruption by both corporate and governmental agencies, the message is ominous, our future bleak

If this isn't enough to convince people that our government is corrupt. They want to be led by the rich and powerful. They will never stop until our country is no longer free. We have the choice of being at their mercy or turning to Jesus for HIS Grace and Mercy for everlasting.

Intriguing film! I loved it and appreciated it because I have a background and degree in Journalism. I am not sure if this would be the case for just anyone, it was a bit hard to follow at some points if you didn't already know the story very well.

Interesting story but the movie is so-so. Good actors, but it's a first-time director, and I think that explains it. Some of the scenes seems forced, some were not needed, and I found it hard to follow the logic towards the end.

This intruiging 2016 movie, based on events over 10 years ago, takes on new meaning these days as we once again explore the meaning of truth in the media in a time when the news is constant and instantaneous. Well-written and expertly acted by a stellar cast - led by the always excellent Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford - this film will not disappoint, no matter whose side you land on in the end.

If you ever wondered: what happened to Dan Rather? this movie is for you.

Robert Redford congratulations on a job well done. You capture the courage of Dan Rather and how he left CBS with everyone's respect. Time has shown that he was correct in his reporting and that corporate pressure brought him down. I am glad to see the truth come out!

I recall when this 60 Minutes news story hit the airwaves. I am not sure where the truth really lies. I'm sure there was a group trying to derail G. W. 's re-election. Robert Redford was not the best actor to portray Dan Rather. Overall a very good movie * * * * *
