I was a fan of John and his music before moving to Princeton, but after learning he graduated from Princeton High School (where my sons attend), it made me even more eager to learn about his unconventional ascension in the music business. I knew he was brutally honest and very funny, and both traits come through clearly in the book.
What's even more interesting is that Princeton served as a nice hotbed of popular music in John's era. Chris Barron was Blues Traveler's first lead singer (before going on to form the Spin Doctors) and Trey Anastasio (of Phish) was only a couple of years older than them at the Princeton Day School.
