Excellent series - especially enjoyed the interviews with the owners of three of these magnificent estates.

An insightful collection of documentaries that look at British estates and manor houses, the histories of the places, the connections, and the social differences of those who lived there. Their role today is also covered in each case, particularly Highclere Castle, which serves as a filming headquarters for a certain well known period drama whose appeal eludes me. Plenty of commentary from the present residents and staff of these places actually adds to the appeal of the documentaries, however, giving the series a human touch.
