A more thought-provoking sci fi movie, K-PAX explores how someone, alien or not, is capable of making you rethink your own views. While I definitely prefer Man Facing Southeast, K-PAX has its moments of introspection.

I thought this movie was really well done. I really enjoyed it when I saw it in the theatre. I would highly recommend it.

This is a non-traditional science fiction film. It helps if you think of this as a play. This has a limited cast and is more about what an alien might have to say to us if he arrived for the weekend. What would we have to say to him? How would we defend our way of life? To me, this is about ideas. There are no special effects or ray guns. This is an intelligent drama that is worth a good sit down with a cup of coffee. Think of it as humanity in a nutshell 101.

Intriguing concept. Good story with likeable characters sharing bits of light philosophy which gives you something to think about. Well acted, well paced. Can't say anything bad about it but it wasn't the most memorable of films either.

This film was very weird and hard to follow.

Dr. Mark Powell: How do you know right from wrong?

Prot: Every being in the universe knows right from wrong, Mark.

"Then I would say that you haven't been listening very carefully, because what Einstein *actually* said was that nothing could approach the speed of light because its mass would become infinite."

Prot: I wanna tell you something Mark, something you do not yet know, that we K-PAXians have been around long enough to have discovered. The universe will expand, then it will collapse back on itself, then will expand again. It will repeat this process forever. What you don't know is that when the universe expands again, everything will be as it is now. Whatever mistakes you make this time around, you will live through on your next pass. Every mistake you make, you will live through again, & again, forever. So my advice to you is to get it right this time around. Because this time is all you have.
