Lisa Gardner, the New York Times bestselling author of Hide and Gone, draws us into the venomous mind games of her most terrifying killer yet. Come into my parlor ... For Kimberly Quincy, FBI Special Agent, it all starts with a pregnant hooker. The story Delilah Rose tells Kimberly about her johns is too horrifying to be true--but prostitutes are disappearing, one by one, with no explanation, and no one but Kimberly seems to care. Said the spider to the fly ... As a member of the Evidence Response Team, dead hookers aren't exactly Kimberly's specialty. The young agent is five months pregnant--she has other things to worry about than an alleged lunatic who uses spiders to do his dirty work. But Kimberly's own mother and sister were victims of a serial killer. And now, without any bodies and with precious few clues, it's all too clear that a serial killer has found the key to the perfect murder ... or Kimberly is chasing a crime that never happened.

I returned this audio book early, without finishing it. I found it to gruesome to finish. I like her other books, but this was way over the top.

This book was very disturbing to me. This one will stay with me for quite a while and I don't mean in a good way. I may be spoiling this for some so if you don't want to know stop reading here.

This book is about young boys being abducted and abused, a madman who loves spiders and has several spiders both deadly and not that he keeps for pets. It shows the damage that is done to a young boy who is abducted and abused for many years. It also tells of the madmen that stalk the internet looking for vulnerable boys to prey upon.

The story is well written and I listened to it until the end, not sure what that says about me. If you are a fan of Lisa Gardner as I am you will probably enjoy it.

This is well written, well read and well researched. But be warned that it contains terrible abuses and torture of children and women as well as graphic death scenes.

Wow! What an education--makes one understand that no one is safe. "Not for the faint of heart." Well researched and written.

This was my favourite Lisa Gardner novel. The antagonists are exquisitely written. What other writer can make you feel sympathy for the villain while simultaneously loathing and despising him? I was almost sad when this ended. It's such a great story. Read Gardner's The Neighbor. You will not be disappointed.
