Baker & Taylor
Concerned for her preschooler twins' safety in the face of tales about a pale, blood-stained figure lurking in the nearby woods, Lori consults with her not-quite-departed Aunt Dimity and stumbles upon the truth about a forty-year-old murder.

Blackwell North Amer
Lori Shepherd's life in England couldn't be more tranquil or more satisfying - except for one thing. Her five-year-old twins have started school, and Lori fears they'll catch everything from the flu to fleas. What they do come home with, however, is worse: a report of a pale, cloaked figure with bloodstained lips lurking in the woods.
Have Will and Rob had a close encounter with a vampire? Lori is skeptical at first but soon grows concerned enough to consult with her late (but not entirely departed) Aunt Dimity and her dear friend Kit Smith. The hunt leads Lori to the campsite of Leo, a charming vagabond just returned to England after forty years of self-imposed exile, and to Hilltop Farm, where the bitter old crone Lizzie Black tells bloodcurdling tales about a family Lori's never met - the DuCarals of Aldercot Hall. Could Lizzie's tales be true? Are the DuCarals the direct descendants of the most famous vampire of them all - Count Dracula? With Kit's help - and Aunt Dimity's - Lori discovers the twisted family secrets concealed in Aldercot Hall, unearths the truth about the mysterious murder that took place there forty years ago, and shocks everyone - including herself - by revealing the true identity of the twins' vampire.

This is the 13th title in the series of Aunt Dimity ... Lori Shepherd.. Bill her husband,
the two bright and charming son twins, the close to the heart neighbors of Finch village in England.
This is leisure time reading. A far fetched plot, but with a human interest set of values.
Next as 14th book in the series is Aunt Dimity Slays the Dragon. (oh my.)

Just okay, not one of Nancy Atherton's best.

Try this cozy mystery series set in a quaint village in England. Laurie Shepherd communicates with her dead "aunt" via a special bound notebook. First in the series is Aunt Dimity's death.
