Summary
Add a SummaryEveryone in the Underland has been taking great pains to keep The Prophecy of Time from Gregor. Gregor suspected it says something awful but he never imagined just how awful: It calls for the warrior's death. Now, with an army of rats approaching and his mom and sister still in Regalia, Gregor the warrior must gather up his courage to help defend Regalia and get his family home safely. The entire existence of the Underland is in Gregor's hands, and time is running out. There is a code to be cracked, a mysterious new princess, Gregor's burgeoning dark side, and a war to end all wars.
Luxa has declared war on the rats, and the only way for the war to end (one way or another) is for Gregor to fulfill the Prophecy of Time and kill the Bane. The Code of Claw, which was mentioned in the Prophecy several times, needs to be broken, it they were to succeed on winning. On top of all that, according to the prophecy, Gregor also has to deal with the knowledge that the prophecy predicted that might very possibly die...

An impressive end to the five-volume series. Definitely some surprises as far as who survives and who doesn't. This final volume includes the big war we've been leading up to between the humans and the rats. We get to see a couple characters we thought were long gone, and Gregor's sister Lizzie finally makes it down into the Underland.
I'm a little disappointed with the ending, I have to admit. As Gregor realizes, he can't stay in the Underland, but he won't fit in the Overland anymore. I feel like the author didn't realize the dilemma this created until she was wrapping up this final book, and her solution to the problem really doesn't sit well with me.
Other than that, though, I've really enjoyed this series. Not on a Harry Potter level, where I'm desperately wishing the story would continue, but it was definitely enjoyable while it lasted.
Awesome book, made me cry, bittersweet ending. I love the message it sends. This is a great book, my rats and I loved it
This is an amazing book to end an amazing series. I cried at the end. I am glad our favorite rat found something to be happy about, but the chiropteran god of war met a sad end. I cried. ;-; But yeah, really amazing.
R.I.P Ares........... sniff sniff
WHY? WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE. WHY? GREAT BOOK .ENDING COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. I JUST MADE MY OWN ENDING AFTER THE BOOK ENDED
I really enjoyed the book. Its a page turner.
Honestly, one of the best books (and book series) I've ever read.
However, only reason why I didn't give this five stars is that I am not particularly satisfied with the ending. It didn't really wrap things up as I had expected. Nonetheless, I had a lot of fun reading these books.
So much better read in the book format rather than the book-on-CD.
Love this book. I wish they would make a movie
