Celebrating Cultures: Kodomo no Hi Storytime and Craft

3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Mitchell Park Library

Description

Join us for a special storytime and craft celebrating Children's Day (Kodomo no Hi)! Children's Day takes place on May 5 in Japan and celebrates children's personalities and wishes for their happiness.

We will have a digital kamishibai storytime, using slides presented on a screen to mimic the traditional Japanese storytelling medium of "paper play," followed by a craft where we make and decorate paper koinobori (carp kites).

This program will include a presentation on a TV.

Family Craft events are designed for children and their adult companions to enjoy together. Crafts will be offered while supplies last and as seating capacity allows.
