EventsWorkshop: Solo Travel

Workshop: Solo Travel

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Rinconada Library

Description

Solo traveling is on the upswing, especially among women over 50. This workshop gives solo travelers basic information on how to plan their trips. Mary Bartnikowski plans to show photographs from 34 countries and to share her own experience solo traveling in Asia, South America, Europe, and Central America. She will recommend countries that are easy to travel in, show how to get good prices on flights, and plan an itinerary. Interested participants will be invited to apply for yearly retreats in Europe and Mexico for six people. Participants will leave the presentation knowing they can travel solo safely and start their solo trip sooner than they might think. Planning accommodation, choosing a low season, and designing an itinerary is easier with an expert's advice.

Mary Bartnikowski has solo-traveled in 34 countries and lived in several. A full-time traveler for 20 years, she is an award-winning photographer with her own business, having shot 725 weddings in Palo Alto, wild rhinos in Nepal, and the Dalai Lama in India. Through her one-woman exhibitions in the Bay Area, she has sold her photography to art investors worldwide. She has led paid programs at Apple, Stanford, Intel, University of Hawaii, and globally for private retreats and for non-profits in Argentina, India, Thailand, Colombia, and Nepal. Mary's five-book series on her Solo Traveling adventures is available on Amazon here.
