Handmade Books for Juneteenth (ages 8-12)

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Mitchell Park Library

Description

Celebrate Juneteenth by creating a handmade booklet filled with your own collage work! Under the guidance of CASP visual artist and art educator Nasim Moghadam, this workshop promises to inspire and ignite your imagination. Come and create your own unique booklets to treasure or share with others!

Please note that this program is designed as a two-part series: we will be creating blank books in our first session, then filling them with collage in the next session:

Session 1: Thursday June 12: Handmade Bookmaking Workshop

Discover the art of crafting your own booklets from scratch. Bring your book with you for Session 2!

Session 2: Thursday June 19: Collage for Juneteenth

Fill the pages of your handmade books with Juneteenth-inspired collage work! Patrons without handmade books will be shown how to create a simple folded booklet for the collage project.

Space is limited. Registration is not mandatory, but is encouraged to receive an email reminder about the event.
