What's Up Wednesday: Yuka Yu's DJ Workshop for Teens

2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Mitchell Park Library

Description

What's up this Wednesday? It's a DJ workshop for Teens with Yuka Yu!

Whether you already DJ or are a complete beginner, this course is a great place to get started. Learn how to download and organize your music collection, use Rekordbox to prepare your playlists, and mix harmonically.

Preparing your set – Learn about the different formats and how to download and organize your music library. Get your hands on the controls and learn how to load your tracks. From there we will go over how the DJ equipment is set-up and go over some options so that if you decide to buy your own you’ll be set to play in no time. You will have a chance to play a track on a Pioneer DDJ mixer.

Hailing from Taipei, Taiwan, a city with a thriving nightlife that goes until the wee hours of the morning, Yuka Yu grew up with the birth of the electronic music scene in Asia in the late 90s. Her sets are a mix of genre-overlapping styles, telling a story and creating a formidable musical journey.
