Events › Nowruz New Year Celebration

Celebrate the arrival of spring and new beginnings this Nowruz! Join Palo Alto City Library for a fun-filled Nowruz celebration at the Mitchell Park Community Center. Festivities include:

• Music by Mo and Mehran: Mohammad Ebrahimi, a Persian musician skilled in santoor, ney, tonback, daf, and more, will perform traditional folk music. He will be joined by his brother Mehran Ebrahimi. 
• Ayra Daf Group: Students of Homeyra Banejad will play the daf and sing in celebration of Nowruz.
• Persian Dancing with Shadan: Enjoy classical and folk Persian dance by Shadan, a dedicated instructor and performer with over 20 years of experience.
• Beshkan Dance Academy: Co-founded by Razieh Oghabian and Sharareh Ghahremani, Beshkan showcases Persian dance and culture, with performances at major events nationwide.
• Arts and Crafts
• Storytime
  
• Ada's Cafe – Festive treats will be available for purchase during the event.
