Description

In honor of Native American Heritage Month and the tireless efforts of advocates for Indigenous rights, join us for a screening and discussion of Oyate

This powerful documentary chronicles the voices of Indigenous activists, organizers, and politicians as they offer their perspective on the history of human rights and environmental justice that impacts the lives of many contemporary Indigenous communities. Premiering at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in 2022 to critical acclaim, Oyate highlights the #NoDAPL movement which began in 2016 with the people of Standing Rock opposing the Dakota Access Pipeline.
