Description

Celebrate the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) community during the month of May and beyond! Join Oliver Chin to explore the evolution of Japanese animation and comic books—featuring 100 of your favorite characters and creators: from Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy and Rumiko Takahashi’s Ranma 1/2 to Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli and Totoro. In addition to the reading, children will have the opportunity to learn how to draw an anime character, and then engage in coloring manga-themed sheets. This multimedia presentation is perfect for the whole family and is suitable for children in grades K-8.
