Description

Let’s Go Plastic-Free & Save Our Ocean Friends!

This is a super fun, art-based workshop perfect for kids ages 5-10, created by Kat Kid Adventure and Cloud Project (those under 5 will require parent/caregiver support).

Did you know two dump trucks of trash end up in the ocean each minute?! YIKES! That’s a whole lotta trash!

In this 4-session workshop, kids will learn about the impact of plastic waste on our ocean and ways they can help and be eco-heroes. Over the 4 weeks, they will learn how to sort waste, design their own eco-hero tote bag, create posters to spread awareness of ocean plastic pollution, and even learn to host a waste-free birthday party – all through fun, art, and games!

Please register to receive an email reminder for this event and help us know how many children to expect. Activities will be available while supplies last.

Workshops will build upon one another, but if you can't make it to all 4 workshops, that's okay! You will register for each workshop individually.

Workshop dates and info:

  • Week 1, 2/4: Learn to sort your waste and be an Eco-Hero that prevents unwanted trash from going into the landfills and ocean.
  • Week 2, 2/11: Craft a fun DIY for your room while learning that what goes around comes around through the ocean food chain.
  • Week 3, 2/18: Decorate an awesome tote bag to start building your first eco-habit: taking a reusable bag to the grocery store. Tally every time you do and return your tallycard the next week to receive a prize!
  • Week 4, 2/24: Plan a fun-filled, waste-free birthday party! AKA Kat Kid Birthday Party! Complete with confetti and a scavenger hunt!
