Getting Started with Web3 - Blockchain and Digital Wallets

Description

This hands-on, workshop will introduce you to basic blockchain technology and digital wallets.

The session is designed for absolute beginners.

Participants will:

  • Get an overview of blockchain technology and the role it plays in Web3
  • Create a digital wallet and practice exchanging tokens with people and Web3 protocols
  • Learn about the risks and security issues around blockchain

This is Session 1 of a two-part series on Web3 technologies.


REQUIRED: Participants must bring their own personal device to install wallet software onto such as any of the following:

  • a smartphone (Apple or Android)
  • a tablet (e.g. iPad)
  • laptop (note the course is designed around mobile device users)

Please be sure you have your app store credentials ready so that you can download the required free wallet software.
